| Serving the
Educational needs of Jewish children with special needs |
| |
Not long ago, Jewish
children growing up with the challenges of Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down's
Syndrome often felt left out of our community. Thanks to people
like you, that situation is changing. Today, children with a
wide range of developmental disabilities are attending four participating
schools in Cleveland. The waiting list of children who deserve SEGULA services
continues to grow. Every SEGULA child has an Individual Program
prepared by an Educational Coordinator who has a background specific to the
Child's needs. The student has an Instructional Aide who helps on a day-to-day
basis with curriculum modification, behavior management and social
inclusion. Classmates of special needs students learn about
tolerance and sensitivity toward others. They also learn to be more comfortable
with their own differences and limitations. Your continued
support of SEGULA will enable us to continue our successful program and provide
the opportunity for children on the waiting list to join us. Your generous gift
will help children with special needs to grow up as a part of our Jewish
community - not apart from it. SEGULA is Hebrew for "Treasure".
Thank you for treasuring 'all' of our children despite whatever difficulties
they may face. |
